Southside Black n Houston

Southside Black N Houston

Houston was a rejected foal that our good friends, Karaly & Lorenzo, saved by taking him into Idaho Equine Hospital while Al & I were showing at the Houston Livestock Show. Dr. Robert Washington took over and kept him alive until he was successfully grafted onto a paint mare, Sugar, belonging to Kristy Ryals, a Vet Tech at the hospital. This was no simple task considering the mare  had only horse foals in the past! The grafting went like clockwork – Sugar loved her mule foal! Made people look twice to see a bucksin foal nursing on a red & white paint mare!

We owe a huge thanks to Karaly, Lorenzo, & Dr. Washington for saving Houston, and to Kristy Ryals for allowing him to have a normal foalhood.
